Pakistan Government lift ban on YouTube after 3 years

A ban placed on YouTube Videos and channel by the Government of Pakistan has been lifted off after three years as disclosed by Government officials on Monday.

"On the recommendation of the Pakistan Telecommunication Authority, the Government of Pakistan has allowed access to recently launched country version of YouTube for Internet users in Pakistan," an official statement said.

The ban was as a result of a blasphemous religious video titled"Innocence of Muslims" which was uploaded to YouTube and other websites September, 2012.

As Google now launched a country version of YouTube (YouTube.pk), the country version was confirmed free of the controversial video, Google has however provided necessary measures to make sure the Video does not in the future appear anymore on the country version @YouTube.pk
