Google updates Search Console Adds Amp Error Report

Google announced the update of the Search console. The details of the update is the new error report integrated into the tools to help news publishers probably deploy AMP (accelerated mobile pages).

AMP is designed to make web pages faster to load for users by chopping off several elements web surfers need to download as they try access a webpage.  Many organizations like Google and Twitter have been adopting the AMP protocol.

Google is launching AMP for their mobile results next month. AMP protocol is coming to Google search too but has not yet been officially launched as Google set things up and receive feedback from users.

To help webmasters deploy error-free AMP web pages, Google has added an error report designed for AMP publishers in the Google Search Console.

Google said “AMP error report gives an overview of the overall situation on your site, and then lets you drill down to specific error types and URLs… This process helps you quickly find the most common issues, so that you can systematically address them in your site’s AMP implementation (potentially just requiring tweaks in the templates or plugin used for these pages).”

Google Agrees to Pay 140 Million in Back Taxes in Britain

Google Agrees to Pay $140 Million in Back Taxes in Britain

Google will pay about $140 million in British back taxes in a concession driven by a shift in how the company will measure its success in the United Kingdom.
The terms disclosed Friday translate into 130 million pounds, a small sum for a business as prosperous as Google and its corporate parent, Alphabet Inc. The Mountain View, California, company has about $73 billion in cash.
Britain is one of Googles biggest markets outside the U.S., but the company has minimized its taxes in the country by keeping its European headquarters in Ireland, where tax rates are lower.

That tactic has spurred accusations that Google has been evading taxes.
Google says it will now base its British tax bill on U.K. advertising sales instead of just profit.

Google may soon outsmart FaceBook, Whatsapp and others with New (under-development) Messaging Tool-Chat bot

It was reported about a week ago by the Wall street Journal that the online Tech Giant-Google is secretly developing an Instant messaging app to compete with Facebook, Whatsapp and the likes.

The app was envisioned to oppose the monopolised influence of Facebook, WeChat and Whatsapp messenger.

The messaging app is more of Intereactivity between friends who uses the app, it promises an extremely new Chat functionality that will allow users ask questions from the tool (chatbot) which will then turn to the Google search engine and other unknown information library to present related answers to users query.

The Application will demonstrate an interlocutory relationship with its user, It can learn the allergies, preferences and users personal information and use it to provide bespoke Information.

It was recently researched that there are more than 2 billion mobile device users getting connected with friends and relations on the go with Instant messaging apps like the popular Whatsapp and facebook messenger, Google with its Hangout tool desired to have its fair cut of this number of users but the Google Hangout tool appears to be a utter failure as it couldnt get its desired Audience.

Google did not yet disclose any relevant information as to what the name of the messaging tool would be nor information about the on-going development of the tool.

Google has reportedly made 31 billion in revenue from Android

Google has reportedly made $31 billion in revenue from Android

We know that Google doesnt reveal the revenue or profit it makes off of its Android mobile-operating system. However, looks like the well-guarded secret has just been revealed by Oracle. The the database maker’s attorney in an ongoing lawsuit against Google revealed last week that the latter has made a total of $31 billion in revenue and $22 billion in profit from Android till date.
Google said that the figures were derived from its confidential internal financial documents, adding that the "extremely sensitive information" shouldnt have been publicly disclosed as it was meant for "Attorney’s Eyes Only."
"Google does not publicly allocate revenues or profits to Android separate and apart from Google’s general business," the company said in a court filing. "That non-public financial data is highly sensitive, and public disclosure could have significant negative effects on Google’s business."
The Mountain View, California-based company urged the court to edit related portions of the public transcript of last week’s hearing, following which the transcript was removed from electronic court records.
Filed way back in 2010, the lawsuit accuses Google of copyright violation saying that the company used Java APIs in its Android OS without permission. While Google argued that APIs cant be copyrighted, a court in 2014 ruled otherwise. Following this, the search giant took the battle to the Supreme Court, which upheld the lower courts ruling.
The ongoing arguments are now for the damages that Oracle will receive from Google. "Look at the extraordinary magnitude of commerciality here," Oracles attorney had said last week while disclosing Androids revenue and profit.

Movidius on Wednesday announced that its working with Google to put deep learning on mobile devices.
Google will source Movidius latest flagship chip -- the MA2450 -- and software development environment, and will contribute to Movidius neural network technology road map in return.
That could result in smartphones and other mobile devices that will be able to understand images and audio swiftly and accurately.

The Movidius Technology

The MA2450 is the most powerful iteration of Movidius Myriad 2 vision processor unit, which the company said is the only commercial solution available to perform complex neural network computations.
The Myriad 2 is the first always-on vision processor, Movidius said.
It has a programmable architecture and comes with the Myriad Development Kit, or MDK, which includes a software development framework. That lets developers incorporate proprietary functions and build arbitrary processing pipelines while leveraging the vision, imaging, and linear algebra software libraries and reference vision processing pipeline examples Movidius provides, all as source code.
The MDK includes all necessary programming and debugging tools.
Movidiuss Myriad VPU processor powers Googles Project Tango.

What to Expect

"We can expect to see run-time deep neural networks for speech-to-text, vision and many other smart machine applications running in phones, cameras, automobiles, medical devices and others because the DNN models can be downloaded and run disconnected from the cloud," Gartner Fellow Tom Austin said.
"Remember that working with Google on a project doesnt necessarily translate into products," cautioned Jim McGregor, principal analyst at Tirias Research. "However, this has the potential for almost any device and extends well beyond just facial recognition; this is machine learning."
Facial recognition and retinal scans the technology enables "could significantly increase the level of security over fingerprints and even help identify people," he told TechNewsWorld.
Facial recognition could be used in two-factor authentication, and Google could bake it into Android as it did with fingerprint IDs, suggested Wayne Lam, a principal analyst at IHS Technology.
Google also could apply the technology to home security platforms, he told TechNewsWorld. "Think Nest and other IoT uses."

Potential Uses for the Technology

Banks will begin using smart machines widely, and a report Gartners Austin co-authored suggests most banks will invest in six main types of smart machines during the next few years.
The smart machines resulting from Googles team-up with Movidius could make wireless banking more secure, he told TechNewsWorld.
Other possible uses include authenticating users or admins signing in remotely to an enterprise network, and tracking and authenticating users for security purposes and for provisioning or deprovisioning as needed.
"Facial recognition and retinal scans are much more secure and user-friendly than any of the more common security solutions," Tirias Researchs McGregor said. "This could allow users to log in and begin using platforms in a secure manner effortlessly."
The technology also could be used in wearables and industrial applications in the medical and industrial automation fields, where the Internet of Things might come into play, he suggested.

A New Trend Emerges

"This capability is not limited to the Movidius solution," McGregor pointed out. "Qualcomm is doing it in conjunction with its image signal processor, and this could be done within most SoCs by leveraging the ISP, DSP, GPU, VPU and CPU resources."
Microsoft, Apple "and a whole range of social sites like Facebook, ... Amazon, Baidu, IBM and a few thousand other firms" might follow suit, Gartners Austin suggested.
As global smartphone sales slow, "well see more and more efforts to create differentiated value for platforms such as Android and iOS just to keep up with the furious pace of competition and innovations," noted IHSs Lam.
Google may need to hustle: Movidius "is open for business," Dashwood told TechNewsWorld. "Were currently working with numerous partners on lots of different products."

Google Play Games No Longer Needs Google Plus Account Now

Google Play Games No Longer Needs Google Plus Account Now

Google decided to make available for users its Google play games without first needing to have a Google plus account. There will no more be frequent permission messages, signing is easier too, once you sign in once for a game you dont have sign in for others anymore.

Wolff Dobson wrote on Google’s Android Developer Blog that “We are taking these step in order to lessen frequent sign in’s in every game and unwanted permission requests for players by moving the Games API’s to a new handset. He is working to such an extent that will secure user’s privacy. The company will also change “How Player ID’s Work”.

Game players that already have a Google plus account will continue as usual to use their Google Account as their player ID, only new players will get an entirely different player ID from the previously used IDs.

This is undoubtedly a nice decision from Google to allow anonymous app users install apps through its search engine and allowing developers to create promo codes to boost downloads and engagement of users in their apps.

Google patners Ford to build self driving automobiles

Google partners Ford to build self-driving automobiles
Google Inc. whats more, Ford might be partnering to manufacture self-driving automobiles as discovered by Yahoo Autos on Tuesday. In respect to this news both company have not react to the news, it was said that the self-driving vehicle  would be publicly launched in CES 2016 to be held in Las Vegas amid January 6-9, 2016.

Earlier, Google had disclosed that it was looking for a maker to utilize its innovation since he wasnt going to manufacture automobiles (due to lack of expertise in automobile manufacturing) but provide this technology to third party.

Ford has been chipping away a self-governing innovation as it understood the future has a place with computerized autos. A week ago, Ford reported to test its computerized vehicles on California streets as it hopes to extend its testing. Prior to this, its robotized vehicles are as of now being tried in Romeo, Wittmann, Ariz., Mich., and Mcity as a piece of Ford Smart Mobility, Ford’s 10-year autonomous vehicle development program.

At the end of the day, Google will hope to work with more auto producers. The organization might even need to accomplish something like what it does with Android and cell phones. Rather than building autos itself, Google might simply make the technology that makes the self-driving vehicle conceivable, and make it available for automobile manufacturers to produce this self-driving vehicles.

Google to roll out Algorithmic update to make Chrome browser faster
Google Announced that it will roll out an Algorithm update to make its chrome browser faster than ever.

The change will constitute a data compressing filter called BROTLI, which was first disclosed by Google in September 2015. The Algorithm update will help chrome browsers compress the sizes of Websites to up to 26 per cent better than what we see in the previous Chrome compression tool- Zopfli.

The Algorithm change is named after a Swiss German baked food, Brotli- to mean "small bread".

Google Engineer Illya Grigorik in a post on Google+ , announced that Brotli will be integrated into Chrome soon, may be in the browsers next update.

"At Google, we think that internet users time is valuable, and that they shouldnt have to wait long for a webpage to load," Google (GOOG) said in a September blog post, when it first announced Brotli. "Because fast is better than slow."
The code is available as open-source codes for interested web developers and browsers to use, Mozilla for instance already showed interest in the Algorithm code to enhance its browser as well.
