Blackberry Limited can still pride itself in the loyal support of its Nigerian clients, they still believe in the companys services,now the is company trying to payback for that loyalty as they disclosed a BBM design contest for Nigerians, with the purpose to adding a differentiated Nigeria-customized local chat icons known as BBM stickers to the BBM messaging app.
The competition, named BBM Stickamania Nigeria, is opened to illustrators, graphic illustrators and other creative minds across the Nigerian community.
To participate in this contest, talents are mandated to simply create their innovative signature stickers, the sticker pack that eventually wins the contest will be featured on the BBM Shop.
Winning this contest is by public voting system, to win this contests, contestants better influence as much friends and relatives to vote their sticker packs, they can as well leverage the social media to promote their innovative designs.
BBM has created a panel of Jury to assess 20 sticker packs with the most votes from the internet community, thereafter top 3 winners will emerge and 10 runner-ups.
The first prize winner will be opportune to bag NGN500,000 while the second and third place winners will be awarded NGN250,000 and NGN125,000 respectively.
“In Africa, the BBM Shop gets over 20 million views each month and has tallied 60 million total stickers sent and received,” says Matthew Talbot, Senior VP, BBM, at BlackBerry.
He added, “This contest opens the doors for more talented artists and designers to make their own unique stickers come to life in BBM, and we are hoping to see huge enthusiasm in Nigeria.”
